Between Friday, May 9 and Sunday, May 11, the DTS sports club in Windhoek was filled with energy and excitement as football teams gathered for a highly competitive soccer tournament. Among the standout participants were the Riverheights teams, who brought their A-game across multiple age groups and left a strong impression on and off the pitch.

The U16 team delivered a particularly impressive performance, fighting their way to the finals and securing a well-earned silver medal. Their campaign was highlighted by an extraordinary individual feat from standout player Chanuel, who scored eight goals in a single match—an achievement that not only amazed the crowd but also earned him the title of overall top goal scorer of the tournament.

Not far behind, the U14 team mirrored the U16s' success with their own silver-medal finish, showing immense promise and discipline in their matches. Their journey through the tournament was marked by good passing and defending, and a commendable team spirit.

The U18 squad also made their mark, clinching the bronze medal after a series of hard-fought matches. Their third-place finish was a testament to the depth and development of Riverheights' soccer program.

All in all, it was a weekend to remember for Riverheights. With two silver medals, one bronze, and a top scorer title, the tournament served as a proud showcase of the club’s rising talent and the hard work being put in by players and coaches alike. (It also marked our club’s best-ever performance in a tournament).

Well done to all the players, and a special congratulations to Chanuel for his outstanding scoring feat!
