Berlin Politician Engages Riverheights Football Academy in Windhoek
Riverheights Football Academy was honoured recently to welcome Lars Düsterhöft, directly elected Member of Parliament for Schöneweide, Oberspree and Johannisthal in Berlin, during his recent visit to Windhoek — Berlin’s partner city.
Accompanied by his colleagues from the Berlin Parliament Presidium, Mr. Düsterhöft learned about our work in Goreangab, where we provide over 150 children and young people with the opportunity to play and train in football, receive homework support, and soon, enjoy a warm daily meal.
In Berlin, Riverheights e.V. coordinates assistance from Germany, helping us grow and sustain our programmes. Following his visit to Namibia, Mr. Düsterhöft met with Winnie Ya Otto (Riverheights e.V.), Berlin sports politician Stephan Standfuß and Daniel Dittmar from the Parliament’s administration to explore ways to strengthen and showcase the special city partnership between Windhoek and Berlin, including some ideas that may be tailored for Riverheights specifically.
We are grateful for the interest and support shown by our friends in Berlin and look forward to making this partnership even more visible and impactful for our community.
